macOS and Safari

Set up SSTV Proxy for Safari and Chrome in macOS network settings

Before you begin

Register from the same public IPv4 connection as the target device. Pause VPNs, proxies and IP-hiding services such as iCloud Private Relay before registering, and keep them paused while automatic IP updates run. A browser on mobile data or another connection registers a different address.

IP registration requires active SSTV access and a public IPv4 address. If the update is unavailable or rejected, check these prerequisites before changing device settings.

Connect to the network you will use for streaming. Sign in to your dashboard and use the IP update button under Proxy. Wait for confirmation; signing in alone does not register the address.

The PAC file https://sstv.se/se.pac selects which domains use SSTV. Other websites keep your normal connection. The setting applies only to applications that use it and does not replace a VPN.

Configure

  1. Open Apple menu → System Settings → Network.
  2. Select the active Wi-Fi or Ethernet service, then Details → Proxies.
  3. Enable Automatic proxy configuration and enter https://sstv.se/se.pac in URL.
  4. Save with OK. Older macOS versions use System Preferences → Network → Advanced → Proxies, followed by Apply.

Safari and Chrome use these network settings. Repeat for another network service if you switch between Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Safari can also open this panel through Settings → Advanced → Proxies → Change Settings.

Check and troubleshoot

Close and reopen the browser or app. Try the service you want to use and follow check your connection if needed. A general IP-check website can still show your normal address because the PAC file sends only selected domains through the proxy.

Update the Proxy address again after changing networks or when your provider changes your IP. Use the IP update button in the dashboard.

Turn it off

Disable Automatic proxy configuration for the network service and save. Restore any proxy your network used before.
