Smart TVs and other devices
Configure SSTV SmartDNS on a Smart TV, console or other network device
Before you begin
Register from the same public IPv4 connection as the target device. Pause VPNs, proxies and IP-hiding services such as iCloud Private Relay before registering, and keep them paused while automatic IP updates run. A browser on mobile data or another connection registers a different address.
IP registration requires active SSTV access and a public IPv4 address. If the update is unavailable or rejected, check these prerequisites before changing device settings.
Connect to the network where the device will be used. Open your dashboard on a computer or phone on the same network and update the IP address under SmartDNS. Wait for confirmation; signing in alone is not enough. Pause any VPN while registering so you register the right network.
Record your previous DNS settings. Close the streaming app before making changes. Enter the SSTV DNS address below in the DNS field, not as the device’s own IP address or gateway.
| DNS | IPv4 address |
|---|---|
| DNS | 94.254.0.81 |
Configure
- Open Network → Connection/IP settings on the device. Look for DNS → Manual. Menu names vary by model; follow the manufacturer's manual.
- Keep the device's IP address and gateway automatic when possible. Enter SSTV's DNS address above in the DNS field.
- If changing DNS also requires a static IP, record the current IP/gateway/prefix and reserve the address in the router first. Do not save static IP settings unless you can verify these details.
- Save, reconnect and restart the app or device.
For Samsung models, the DNS field is often under Network Status → IP Settings → DNS Setting → Enter manually. Other brands use different menus. DNS does not install missing streaming apps or change the TV's app-store region. Devices that force their own DNS may ignore this setup.
Check
Reopen the app and try a service you use. Follow check your connection if needed and read services and limitations. SmartDNS does not give all traffic a Swedish IP and does not encrypt your connection.
After an IP change, update the address again. Use the IP update button in the dashboard.
If no websites open, restore your previous DNS settings to recover connectivity, then check the registration in your dashboard.
Undo
Restore the DNS and IP settings recorded before setup. Choose Automatic only for fields that previously used automatic settings; otherwise restore their original manual values. Reconnect the device.
